Destiny.
Purpose.
What if we were meant for more than this world?
What if our wildest dreams were meant to become a reality?
Somewhere.
Deep within.
We yearn for greatness.
And greatness has been placed within us.
We treasure the great men and women of old.
We look up to those that live among us, those that have achieved greatness.
Yet greatness means something different to every individual.
We equate greatness to fame and finances. Yet many in fame have ended their lives due to a drug overdose, alcohol overdose, or are just plain depressed. Is that truly what it means to be great?
What is greatness?
Is it what a singer embodies as she hits those mesmerizing notes that sends chills into everyone within the reach of her voice?
Is it what a an author feels as he articulates a poignant storyline, transfixing millions of readers?
Is it what a healthcare provider feels as he saves a life on an operating table?
Is it what a midwife feels as she delivers another baby?
Is it what a preacher feels as he delivers a message, bringing his church to their knees?
Is it what you feel on your knees before Jesus?
If greatness is what we seek, lets go back to the one who embodies the very essence of greatness.
God.
Revelation portrays a greatness that explodes from God far beyond our capability of understanding.
Flashes of lightning, beams of brilliant sunlight, seas of glass, angels of fire, and at the very center, God Himself.
If greatness comes from Him, why do we not run straight into His throne room, where greatness originates.
