Unsighted

Brokenness
Lays on parched ground.
As I stumble, seek, search
For that which I have sought my whole life.
Why oh passion, have you perished?
When oh drive, did you drive away?
Where oh ardor, do you now abide?
The hunger that once burned
a broken ember.

Desperate, I hunt,
unsighted, parched, a shell of what could be,
what should be.
The light from which I come
the home to which I belong
the fire within which I was forged
beckon to the depths of my heart.
Reverberations of a voice
cry
of sacrifice spilled upon a tree
by a man
who gave his life to save me.

Calloused to eternity
the unfixed digs its fangs,
into the lies, hatred and bitterness
planted within my heart.

Grasps
of the life I was meant to live
the person I was meant to be
like chasing rays forgotten,
glimpses of life beckon.
I have not the strength
to take the first step.
Here I lay
imploring
for life to flood my vision,
rain to wash the scales,
& truth to flood the canyons of my heart.

Whispers of Heaven

Relationship.
The depth of joy that flows from intimacy soar far beyond my meager endeavors at articulation.
Could it be... could it possibly be that the delight of friendship bursts from an unseen place that existed before time itself came to be?
Is it not perfectly congruent that God Himself lives within friendship and intimacy, and in His great love, endowed us with the capability to experience the same?
Could it be that our love for our fellow human is simply a whisper of heaven?
A delectable taste of what was, what is, and what is to be?
A sybilline drop of glory, overflowing from where delight itself originates?
A breathtaking glimpse of the rays that flood holy ground, the Eden that used to be, the very abode of God?

“My prayer...that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.  I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.

Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world." - Yeshua, A.D. 30 [John 17:20-24]

3 Years

3 years
upon this ambrosial trail
& mountaintops divine,
under moonlit nights
your hand in mine.
Here we are again
beneath this foliage lush
as we dance
to the music of the rivers rush.

The years shall fly
like the river
that celebrated our romance
but we shall continue
this exhilarating dance
under firmament blue
in storm & swell
every season and hue.

I love you more now
than when we said I do
beneath that leafy bough.
In everything you are, say & do
mi amour,
I see Jesus in you.

From seed to sapling to stately alpine
shall our love mature
as intentioned by His great design.
This ethereal blessing emblazoned,
a seal upon our heart
this treasure that has been fashioned

until death do us part.
